Zero Waste | How We Upcycle at Under the Nile

Our mission is to create products that not only make a difference in our communities but are created sustainably. This means wastefulness is simply not in our nature. Which is why, we’ve taken our zero waste initiatives one step further – turning leftover scraps from our production into some of your favorite organic baby and home products.

1) Our Rugs

Available in two sizes, our organic cotton rugs are meticulously crafted by hand in our vocational center. Woven from multicolored scraps from our production, each rug is one of a kind and limited editions, making them unique additions to your bathrooms, playrooms and living rooms. Finished with decorative tassels on each end, one rug takes two days to weave!

2) Our Scrappy Toys

From cats and dogs to bunnies and bears – our scrappy animal toy collection is one of our favorite ways to upcycle! Every scrappy toy is made and stuffed with pure organic Egyptian cotton, making them sustainable and pure from the inside out.  Available in a wide assortment of animals, prints and colors, the options for zero waste toys are endless.

3) Dribble Bibs

Babies are messy. Meet our Bandana Dribble Bibs, also part of our Scrappy Zero Waste collection. Backed with organic terry cotton for extra absorbency, these baby bibs come in an assortment of colors and are must-haves for every baby.

4) Baby Buddies

Our most loved toy. Our little baby buddies have stuffed hands and feet, making them easy for your baby to reach and hold on to.  Our baby buddies are made from leftover fabrics in different colors and prints and are repeatedly the lovey of choice. Due to the nature of upcycling, most colors are limited, so we always suggest a back-up buddy!

With all these fun options, we’re all for upcycling.
